RoSfest announces Touchstone for 09!!
Rosfest is delighted to announce that we have
invited Touchstone to play on Sunday morning 3rd
May 2009.
Touchstone
are a five-piece UK rock band with progressive
rock, melodic rock, and alternative influences.
The band was formed in 2003 by vocalist and
keyboard man Rob Cottingham and guitarist, Adam
Hodgson - both of whom are great admirers of
bands such as Yes, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Rush,
and Asia - to name but a few. The rest of the
band is rounded off with Paul Moorghen who
joined on bass in January 2006; Al Melville on
drums in January 2007 and Kim Seviour on vocals
in April 2007.
Adam Hodgson said: "Coming on top of the
excellent review of our album by Geoff Barton in
the recently published Classic Rock magazine,
this really is the icing on the cake. This is
yet another first for the band, and we are all
very excited to get our music listened to
Stateside! We are planning to release our next
album in Spring 2009, so the timing could not be
better. We will be playing a great mix of old
and brand new material, and we also have a
surprise up our sleeve for the gig which we will
announce closer to the
time. The band would like to thank George Roldan
very much for his support, and look forward to
making more friends in the US."
RoSfest is looking forward to this performance
by this up and coming brilliant band.

ABIGAIL'S GHOST ANNOUNCED FOR ROSFEST 2009!
RoSfest
is pleased to announce Louisiana-based group
Abigail's Ghost as our second band on Saturday
morning. Founded by Joshua Theriot (vocals, guitar)
and Kenneth Wilson (bass, backing vocals), who had
been classmates in high school, and continued
through college at Berkelee College of Music in
Boston, they recruited Brett Guillory (keyboards),
John Patrick (drums) and Randy LeBoeuf (guitars) to
round-out the lineup. Abigail's Ghost released their
debut album "Selling Insincerity" in March, 2007,
and has received rave reviews for their modern blend
of melodic rock and prog. Though the band hails from
the Houma/New Orleans area and a few of the members
have musical backgrounds in Cajun French and New
Orleans style jamming, their sound has most often
been compared to the grunge bands of the 90's and
so-called "Krautrock" of the European music scene
circa the 1980's. The band is working on a follow up
album to be released in spring, 2009, just in time
for RoSfest! Head on over to their myspace site or
the RoSfest site and listen to tracks from their
great album Selling Insincerity.

Where do
I begin? It's hard to believe it's been 5 years already.
We started at the Colonial, and not knowing what to
expect, we have now grown and moved into the wonderful
Keswick Theater. RoSfest has now become an institution
and I thank all of you for your continued support and
helping us grow every year. Moving into a larger venue
was a risk worth taking and we think it was the right
choice. We had 755 people show up, which is a new record
for us. Hopefully next year we can put 1000 people in
there! I would like to thank Judith Herbst and all of
the Keswick staff, ushers, and security for their hard
work and outstanding dedication that they showed through
the entire event. I can tell you that the theater staff
and everybody in the town were very impressed by our
patrons, you all made a nice impression on the town!
They definitely want us back, and we'll be glad to
oblige.
Also, I would like to thank all of the volunteers on
our end. Deb Smith, Pat Murphy, and all of the vending
staff, Christine Holz for coming through in a pinch, to
our wonderfully mysterious stage manager, who only wants
to be known as the "guy in the back" for doing a
fricking awesome job. Not one band was late, the
timeline was 100% perfect, and I didn't hear any
complaints from anybody. To all the bands, that gave us
great performances, kudos to you for making the long
journey and giving us your all. We love you all!
2009 will not disappoint! With two great bands already
announced (Nektar and Frost*), you've only heard the
beginning!
The RoSfest website will be revamped in the coming
weeks, and the official announcements will be made
shortly.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping
Black Bonzo out with your donations, after their gear
was stolen. I can't say enough about you all, but it
just goes to show you what kind of community we have at
RoSfest! You guys rock!
Special thanks to my dear friend Uncle Norm for helping
out someone who desperately needed assistance. These
sort of things sometimes don't get noticed, but you
definitely deserve a big pat on the back.
And to everyone I've forgotten, thanks to you all too!
I'm still recovering from the adrenaline rush of the
weekend
Thank you so much,
Iggy
